Patrick Smith, Clay Tryan, Jade Corkill and Kaleb Driggers have joined forces to create Epic Team Roping, a new DVD with a twist.

While most team roping DVDs are either instructional or competition-based (like the BFI or the HorkDog), Epic Team Roping features Smith, Tryan, Corkill and Driggers making run after run in Smith’s arena over the last month.

“After Driven, we wanted to do another DVD that isn’t instructional, because seeing is believing,” Smith said. “You can really see what we do and how we do it, without us explaining it.”

The video features ariel shots captured with drones, super slow motion, new head-cam shots and angles not yet used in team roping. They make runs in an arena with the exact dimensions of the Thomas & Mack Center, as well as in long-score and jackpot set ups. All four pros ride everything from good horses to practice horses, and there are even bonus interviews with each of them describing one rodeo run and the emotion behind it.

“I saw myself doing things in this video that I can pick up on myself, but that I’ve never talked about,” Corkill added. “Every movement of our ropes is in focus in this video, and every single thing we do is crystal clear.”

The DVD will be available Dec. 5 at booths across the NFR trade shows (Teskey’s, NRS and Rodeo Video to name a few) and online at patricksmithroping.com.
