Lone Star Shootout Livestream

The livestream kicks off at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 with the Open’s qualifying rotations—in the same beloved format as the old George Strait Team Roping Classic. The world’s best ropers will be going at each steer in the knife-fight setup of the Lone Star Arena, vying for a spot in the top 12 of each rotation (including the fastest 10 plus the quickest #16.5 teams in the roping). It’s enter three times, so they’ll each be duking it out with their second and third partners in this must-see roping behind a rope barrier. The top 60 will return Sunday to run three head at 6 p.m. in some of the best Open action you’ll see all year.

“The Lone Star Shootout is now one of the premier events of the year, and we’re bringing our production team to let Roping.com members watch it from the comfort of their couches or on the bleachers at a junior rodeo or World Series roping,” Roping.com Content Director Chelsea Shaffer said. “It’s by showing ropings like the Lone Star Shootout to a wider audience that the sport will continue to thrive and grow, providing even more opportunities for ropers at every level.”

The #12.5 follows the same format—minus the rope barrier and plus a World Series start—with qualifying rounds Saturday and the short round Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.

The event will stream to all Roping.com members live from Stephenville, Texas’ Lone Star Arena. Ropers can sign up for a free trial to watch today.
