As the leading all-time breeder of team roping horses, Flag Ranch counts more than $1.2 million in earnings and counting, according to QData.

That’s thanks mostly to Larry and Bobbie Rice’s athletic stallion One Time Honor (by One Time Pepto out of a Holland Ease daughter named Honor Ease). Last year alone through November, the stud’s roping progeny had earned $233,665.

One standout son has been Ryan Gronlie’s 4-year-old One Time Pick (out of a Sixes Pick daughter named Picks Petie), fresh off last fall’s reserve heading championship worth $37,015 at the Gold Buckle World Finals in Abilene. He had already finished second for $16,976 at the 2025 ARHFA World Championships, where three other finalists in heading were also Flag Ranch-bred horses—Relentless Kat, Cardi BRelentless and A Relentless Buzz.

“Larry Rice was ahead of his time,” said Miles Baker, who also split $37,400 heading at the ’24 Riata on a 5-year-old by One Time Honor. “Now we’re all trying to breed the same horses he bred and raised 10 years ago.”

Other winning 4- and 5-year-old rope horses by One Time Honor last season were Fury Of Honor under Jake Cooper, Hal Time under Steve Orth, Nestle Time under Kaleb Driggers and Relentless Kat under Miles Baker.

The winningest broodmares in team roping are consigned to the 43rd Triangle Winter Sale, Jan. 22-24 in Oklahoma City, as the Flag Ranch disperses the dams of 2025 ARHFA World finalist futurity horses ridden by Miles Baker, Kaleb Driggers and Colby Lovell.

Many of these mares also produced winners by former Flag Ranch stallions such as One Fabulous Time, Bobby Starlight and First Prize Diver. Those include Kaleb Driggers’ 5-year-old mare Blowin In Time. He said this daughter of One Fabulous Time can run, with really good footwork, while keeping superb collection through the turn.

Highlighting the sale roster is 11-year-old Playin For Fury, by Furyofthewind. Her daughter Una Furiosa—just 4 last year—won the Old West Intermediate Heading Pre-Futurity for $25,000 and hauled in $102,500 at October’s Solo Select Futurity to finish as the winningest futurity mare of 2025 with earnings of $151,790. Playin For Fury also produced Fury In The Starlight that placed in the Gold Buckle Spring Futurity’s 4-Year-Old Heeling. Another Bobby Starlight daughter for sale is Starlight Edition, the dam of the Snaffle Bit Futurity’s 2024 Intermediate Open Derby champion reined cow horse Starlight Time with earnings of $82,271.

Another Flag Ranch mare for sale is Picks Petie, the dam of futurity champ Picks Fury and, of course, One Time Pick that amassed nearly $75,000 as a 4-year-old under Billie Jack Saebens. Also selling is Blowing With The Wind, the 14-year-old mare that produced Kaleb Driggers’ fantastic 5-year-old mare Blowin In Time that earned $39,844 at heading futurities in 2025. Keep in mind that a Flag-Ranch-raised Furyofthewind son named Chic’s Magic Corona won the 2022 ARHFA World Championship under Rhen Richard, and in 2023, Relentless Remuda’s leading 4-year-old futurity horse, Bama Fury was also out of a Flag Ranch Furyofthewind daughter.

“What really separates their program is the way they find the right cross of size, athletic ability, run and cow,” said Tate Kirchenschlager, who has ridden several rope horses out of Flag Ranch mares.

The consigned broodmares also include two Smooth As A Cat daughters. Thirteen-year-old All Time Smooth Cat produced Relentless Honor, on which Miles Baker earned $58,898 at heading futurities. And 15-year-old RN SmoothNestleQuix’s winning get include standout head horse First Prize Nestle and 4-year-old Nestle Time that earned $41,781 at futurities last season at both ends, including a win at Royal Crown Guthrie.

Of course, the broodmare band also features 13-year-old Carter’s Time that produced Carter’s Won Time Out, the 8-year-old that earned $120,682 at futurities and is Kolton Schmidt’s defending Ponoka Stampede champion. And Makebelieve Mistress, the 17-year-old mare that produced A Relentless Buzz, Brazile’s earner of $33,787 as a 4-year-old last season.

Rarely offered to the public, Flag Ranch broodmares are a mix of perfect traits required by high-level ropers thanks to proven genetics.
