The Solo Select May Mixed Sale opens online May 31 at soloselecthorses.com, and rope horse buyers have a short window to study the catalog before the gavel drops. The timed auction begins at 8 a.m. CDT, with lots starting to close at 5 p.m. CDT.
Solo Select has become the default marketplace for elite Western performance horses, with more than $70 million in sales and the deepest pool of rope horse buyers in the online space. For team ropers, the draw runs past the horses themselves: much of the program’s offering feeds into the Solo Incentive, the breeding-funded futurity that added $400,000 for 2025 and pays owners who buy a qualifying breeding and rope for it as 4-year-olds.
This mixed sale spans the full range—embryos, prospects, performers and broodmares—but a handful of lots carry the kind of team roping pedigree worth flagging. Here are the ones we’re watching.
