How to compete at the 2025 WCJR
The most-common way of qualifying for the WCJR is through the WCRA DY leaderboard. Athletes nominate events toward the leaderboard to rack up points, and the Top 12 athletes on the leaderboard are seeded into the Semi-Final round. Leaderboard nominations closed June 22, but team ropers can still make their way to Guthrie through open entries.
Athletes can enter the WCJR through open entry, competing in the qualifying rounds for a chance to advance to the Semi-Finals. The two fastest times from the first round, two fastest times from the second round and the six fastest aggregate times will advance. There is also a Buy Back Round where the two fastest times will advance to the Semi-Finals. New in 2025, the aggregate winners from the open rounds will secure a spot in the Championship Round. The open entry route closes July 9, however late entries will be taken July 9-17, with an additional $50 fee per discipline.
