Albuquerque, NM—Nov. 14, 2022 – Among the Spanish-speaking roping community of the Americas, Aldo Garibay has been referred to as “The Trevor Brazile of Mexico”. Now Roping.com is bringing this talented team roper, teacher and ambassador’s wisdom available to their audience with a new series.
Garibay grew up in the Mexican state of Sonora—a few hours south of Arizona’s border—on his family’s ranch, where they raised cattle and crops. With team ropings and rodeo abound in northern Mexico, particularly in the neighboring state of Chihuahua, and it wasn’t long before his father was finding opportunities for his sons to become skilled competitors.
The Garibay brothers, Aldo and his elder brother Sergio, would come to dominate the Mexican rodeo world and would each earn a record-breaking number of World Champion titles—10 for Sergio and then another 11 for Aldo.
In addition to being a competitor, Garibay is also a master at teaching what he does best. Through his company Team Roping Intensivo (T.R.I.), he brings students to the ranch he leases for a six-day immersive clinic in Polotitlan, in Central Mexico. Garibay also travels throughout his country and greater Latin America giving clinics as he goes.
