Trevor Brazile and RR Buckles Clubhouse captured the Heading Derby at the TX Best Rope Horse Futurity on September 5, 2025, scoring 916.22 on four head for $7,000, bringing the palomino gelding’s lifetime earnings to $207,189.
Owned by Bryan and Nancy Beaver, the gelding has been in the Relentless Remuda program since he was a 2-year-old. By Show Me The Buckles and out of Hail Olena by Shine Like Hail, “Clubhouse” blends his sire’s sleek, stylish movement with the size and consistency Brazile looks for.
“One of the coolest things about the Buckles colts is how sleek and cool-moving they are,” Brazile said. “Clubhouse is bigger, but he still has those same attributes.”
That combination paid off in a tough setup where uneven cattle tested both pull and facing.

“A lot of horses were having trouble pulling and then especially with the combination of pulling and facing,” Brazile explained. “That’s just one of his attributes—he’ll swap ends on facing. He’s big enough to do everything else that goes along with it.”
It wasn’t always automatic. Brazile admits there was a stretch early on where facing was inconsistent, but now it’s become one of the gelding’s strengths.

“He faced good with Miles [Baker], but the transition with me wasn’t very good for a while,” Brazile said. “He went from facing good—even if it was calculated—to not facing at all. Now it’s like hitting the eject button every time. He’s automatic.”
That kind of reliability makes him fun to show.
“He’s just a lot of fun because you can get out and catch, and he usually does the same trip,” Brazile said. “Sometimes that’s not as easy as it sounds. But when I do my part, he does his.”
With three major futurity stops left this year, Brazile believes Clubhouse has more big moments ahead.
“This horse deserves a big title,” Brazile said.
