This is the first run on the softest set of 2022 Hill Rodeo Cattle team roping steers. They won’t run as hard as Round 2, and they’re about the same size as the steers in Round 1. Contractor Bobby Joe Hill breaks it down:

Round 3 Draw

Chad Masters and Joseph Harrison: 21

Medium

JR Dees and Levi Lord: 25

Medium

Tyler Wade and Trey Yates: 14

A little smaller, medium.

Rhen Richard and Jeremy Buhler: 35

Medium. They missed him the first time and he’ll have an extra run on him.

Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves: 47

Medium

Tanner Tomlinson and Patrick Smith: 60

Go-round steer tonight. Hereford steer, soft and maybe a step to the right. When the steer steps to the right, you can get out in front of them and come tight without getting up the wall and get a faster face. (Hill’s notes: The first year I had the steers here, I had a steer with ear tag 60 and he looked identical. They placed three out of four rounds on him.)

Coleman Proctor and Logan Medlin: 17

This will be on the smaller end. He was medium, and a step to the left.

Andrew Ward and Buddy Hawkins: 39

Medium.

Clay Smith and Jake Long: 41

Medium.

Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill: 55

Medium, stepped left. There were a lot of steers that stepped left into the horses, but some who did that ran fairly straight last night.

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira: 29

Medium.

Jake Orman and Brye Crites: 32

Medium.

Riley Minor and Brady Minor: 31

Medium.

Lightning Aguilera and Jonathan Torres: 44

Medium.

Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp: 27

Medium
