Memorial Day Weekend is a special time as we honor those who selflessly sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. It’s also a big weekend of jackpotting before the best guys in the world head out for the summer run. On this episode of The Short Score, we go over who won what big ropings over the weekend.

The weekend started out Friday, May 26, 2023, with the 49th Annual Windy Ryon Memorial near Fort Worth. Clay Smith and Junior Nogueria were 35.36 on five head to take home the Open title.

Casey Allen, host of our sister podcast The Breakaway Breakdown, was on-site at the 14th Annual Danny Dietz Memorial Classic in Decatur. She caught up with Tyler Wade and Jake Long, the Twisted X Open champs who roped five head in 30.28 seconds.

The weekend continued in Buffalo, Texas, with the Cody NesSmith Memorial Team Roping. Dustin Eguisquiza and Travis Graves took the win with a 28.28. Last but not least, the Priefert Ranch Open Roping kicks off Tuesday, May 30 and will be livestreamed on Roping.com.
