Nelson Wyatt and Buddy Hawkins pocketed $15,000 a man for winning the WCRA’s Cowtown Christmas Championship Dec. 17 in Fort Worth, Texas, smoking their final run in 3.6 seconds.

Casey Allen, host of The Breakaway Breakdown podcast, was on site to interview the winners and shared that conversation with The Team Roping Journal, in this episode of The Short Score presented by Smarty.

About WCRA‘s Cowtown Christmas

A total of 72 athletes (eight athletes per night) in each of the nine disciplines competed the December 14-16 Qualifying Rounds with the top two fastest times or highest scores in each discipline of each performance advancing to the December 17 Showdown Round. The six qualifiers from the Qualifying Round along with the WCRA Leaderboard No. 1 created for a total of seven athletes competing in each discipline of the December 17 Showdown Round. The top three fastest times advanced to the Triple Crown of Rodeo Round where the fastest time or score walked away with a minimum of $15,000.
