Smart Chic Olena ®, “Chic,” was the 1990 AQHA World Champion Senior Cutting Horse and the 1993 AQHA World Champion Senior Reining Horse—the only horse to ever win both events. Before the iconic stallion passed in 2012, he had become the 1991 Congress Open Cutting Champion, the 1993 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Open Reserve World Champion, the 1993 Congress NRHA Open Reserve World Champion and the 1993 Open Champion at the NRHA Derby, along with countless other accolades. Chic has been inducted into both the NRHA and AQHA halls of fame.
Trevor and Tiffany Bond purchased Chic with the intention of helping a legend live on and to preserve the legacy™ of the 1985 stallion.
“God blessed us when we were able to purchase Chic,” Tiffany said. “It came about because of our love for this legendary horse and the dream we could have a horse of his quality in our barn.”
A sire of more than $14 million in progeny earnings, Chic passes his winning genetics on to his offspring. Over the years, Chic has produced three horses that have won the World’s Greatest Horseman, 17 AQHA World Champions, 31 AQHA Reserve World Champions, three National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity champions, and two NRHA Open Futurity champions.
