The Busbys weren’t looking for a new stud back in 2023, but found they couldn’t pass up the chance to add A Blazin Dude to their lineup. A Blazin Dude is by Busby’s great sire Blazin Jetolena, whose progeny earnings have crossed $11 million; his dam, Dasher Dude went to a pair of NFRs, winning go-rounds en route to lifetime earnings of $570,000, and has produced progeny with earnings of $235,000-plus.

Part of a growing legacy of champions, A Blazin Dude also boasts an NFR-qualifying full sister, Blazing With My Dude, who helped Andrea Busby earn a pair of NFR qualifications in 2024 and 2025.

“The stallion game is tough; it’s a long process, to say the least,” Andrea said. “I’d watched A Blazin Dude, and I just thought, ‘Man, what better horse to add to our program?’ He’s had success, and we’ve had so much success with his full sister.”
