In just his third year as a sire, this blue roan Metallic Cat son has become a versatile $3 million producer of cow horses, cutters and rope horses.
Hashtags himself was described as “a Navy SEAL” in the cutting pen for the way he won everything regardless of footing, including the NCHA Super Stakes Open Championship and the NCHA World Championship. Now, having sired the 2024 NCHA Open Horse of the Year in 4-year-old Jazlyn, he is known for producing intense, powerful offspring.
The winningest futurity heeler in America kicked off his season last winter with a big win aboard the Hashtags son Purposely Tagged in Scottsdale, Arizona for $11,473. When asked what it was about him, Joseph Harrison said it was the two things he feels are most important in a heel horse: being good in the box and good on the end of the rope.
That colt was sold to a high-school roper before the year was out, but Tate Kirchenschlager also won a 4-and-Under ARHFA last spring aboard Lazzertag–a Hashtags product that transitioned from the cow horse. In October 2024, Tanner Nall split $39,000 heeling on 5-year-old Josey Walez by Hashtags in the #12.5 at the Riata, and split another $19,500 heading on him in the #12.5.
Junior Nogueira even bred his gold-buckle mare Apach R Hali to Hashtags and has a 4-year-old now.
“My Hashtags filly is absolutely beautiful, and she moves so effortlessly,” he said. “Everything has been easy for her, and she’s been gentle and kind since Day One.”
