Jesse Leon Stipes and Casey Stipes Win Their First International Professional Rodeo World Titles

At the 40th annual International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City, Okla., history was made. Shawn Minor, of Camden, Ohio, moved into second place on the all-time list for International Professional Rodeo Association World Titles when he won his sixth bareback riding title, second saddle bronc title and fifth all-around title. Last year, he won the bareback riding and all-around titles.

The wins moved him past three cowboys who are tied with 11: Ben Jordan, Jake Wiseman and Dale Yerigan. However, Minor still has a long way to go to catch IPRA legend Dan Dailey, who has 29 titles: 17 all-around, 11 saddle bronc and one steer wrestling. Dailey qualified for the IFR in every event at one time or another except tie-down roping.

Brothers Jesse Leon Stipes and Casey Stipes from Salina, Okla., won the team roping, while barrel racer Mesa Leavitt and steer wrestler Matthew Mouseau repeated as champions.
