Knockin’ Boots: Professional Team Ropers Favorite Boots

Luke Brown

Boots:

Rebel Pro by Durango

Why?

They’re lightweight and very durable—can’t wear them out. I have both rubber and leather sole. I prefer the rubber sole because I’m so hard on them. They’re not too tall.

Trevor Brazile

Boots:

Relentless by Ariat

Why?

I like it because it has the look and feel of the traditional leather sole but, it lasts like a rubber sole. I could never wear rubber soles in competition—in the tie-down and team roping—because they stick you in the stirrups. Through the testing we did and the lab did, we found out the resistance came from the outsoles, so having the leather on the outside fixed that problem. I’ve been competing in these boots in the tie-down roping since 2015.

Coleman Proctor

Boots:

Bent Rails by Justin Boots

Why?

I like the Bent Rails. I’m partial to the performance sole. It wears like leather, but it lasts a lot longer. I like that they run a little bit wider and they have good arch support. They look sharp and they last a long time. I like the shorter tops on them and I like them to have the holes instead of the ears when you pull them on. They’re also American made in the great state of Missouri.

Chase Tryan

Boots:

Stetson

Why?

They fit real comfortable. They feel great, and they last a long time. The height of the boot is right in the middle of my calf. They’re comfortable in the stirrup, too.

Clay O’Brien Cooper

Boots:

Tony Lama

Why?

They fit good and are comfortable. They are leather soled. I like both leather and rubber soles. I like a rubber sole just to walk around in—more of a dress boot. I like leather soles to ride in because my foot won’t hang in the stirrup when I get off. I don’t like a real tall top, these are lower on my calf.
