Kaleb Driggers and BR Leave A Tip were the only team to mark 300 or better in both rounds of the Solo Select Futurity heading, and they carry a 5.75-point lead into Round 3 with 605.06 on two head.
The gray gelding by BR Golden Leader opened with a 303.16, the high score of the first round, and followed with a 301.90. Garland Ray Baker Jr. bred him.
The futurity, open only to 4-year-olds, has $205,000 added in the heading at Circle T Arena in Hamilton, Texas. Round 3 runs Thursday, Oct. 1, and the top 15 on three head advance to the finals that evening.
The finals are a clean slate. BR Leave A Tip’s lead can buy him a spot in the short round, but not a head start in it.
Driggers has not had him all summer.
“Cole Davison has had him this summer while I’ve been rodeoing,” Driggers said.
BR Leave A Tip is a full brother to BR Call A Uber, a 2020 gelding Baker also bred. Both are by BR Golden Leader and out of the Frenchmans Specialty mare Lady Bugs Specialty.
The older brother has more than $118,000 in QData total earnings through Aug. 27, including $15,510 in incentive and sidepot money. His biggest check was $33,440, for second in the heading futurity open at the 2025 American Rope Horse Futurity Association (ARHFA) Old West in Heber City, Utah. He also placed third at the 2025 ARHFA World Championship and won the heading maturity stallion incentive open at the 2025 Gold Buckle spring event.
Justin Hughes owns BR Call A Uber, and QData lists Davison as his most recent show rider.
“He wants to be a good horse, just real level minded, wants to score and has the athletic ability to be able to run and keep everything smooth,” Driggers said.
Britt Williams and Diceman sit second with 599.31 on scores of 300.73 and 298.58. Trevor Brazile and Kryptoniite are third at 598.60 after a 300.35 in the second round. Billie Jack Saebens, who won the 2025 heading on Una Furiosa for $102,500, is fourth on DF Stolen Documents with 597.56. His 300.93 was the second-best score of the opening round.
Driggers bookends the top five. He is also fifth on Time For Play, who marked the high score of the second round, a 302.74, to reach 596.83. Driggers has six horses in the standings; Ninety Seven Chevy is 12th and Frenchmans Buddy is 15th.
The top of the field is tight. Only 15.20 points separate first from 10th. Jordan Allyn and In Style Cat (594.45), Clyde Bolejack and Shhhh Im Talking (592.66), Miles Baker and GQH Winners On Fire (592.20), Brazile and Relentless Again (590.43) and Rowdy Jones and Heza Solo Cat (589.86) round out the top 10. That gives Brazile two horses in the top 10.
The cut to the short round is tighter. Frenchmans Buddy holds 15th for Driggers at 584.33, 0.51 point ahead of Luke Atchison and Snowy Rey Von. Taabe (583.44) and Probably Stevie Von (582.91) sit 17th and 18th, each less than 1.5 points outside.
Sires
One Time Honor has four horses in the field, all bred by Flag Ranch, led by Time For Play. Honor The Wind is 11th for Tate Kirchenschlager.
Metallic Cattack has five, led by Kryptoniite in third and Heza Solo Cat in 10th.
The Sire Pot
The biggest check turns on who sired the winner. Offspring of Solo Select’s 21 enrolled stallions compete for the 60% Sire Pot on top of the 40% Main Pot, and the heading champion is set to collect $100,000 only if Sire Pot eligible.
BR Leave A Tip is not. Neither is anyone else in the top two. Kryptoniite, by enrolled stallion Metallic Cattack, is the highest-placed of the eight Sire Pot horses, and Heza Solo Cat is the only other one inside the top 15.
Sire Pot money no Sire Pot horse claims rolls back into the Main Pot.
