2020 NFR Steer Report: Round 1
The first-round steers from Hill Rodeo Cattle will be the largest set of the week, topping out at 540 pounds.

College National Finals Rodeo Champ and former Resistol Rookie of the Year Billy Bob Brown is overseeing the cattle and the draw this year during the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field, and each night he’ll let us know the ins and outs of the draw. 

Brenten Hall and Chase Tryan: 838

Medium both runs in practice. 

Kolton Schmidt and Hunter Koch: 711

Medium-plus and medium. “He tripped at the line but ran a great pattern,” Brown said.

Jeff Flenniken and Tyler Worley: 821

Medium both runs. “He was pretty good and left sharp,” Brown said.

Nelson Wyatt and Levi Lord: 840

Medium-plus both runs.

Erich Rogers and Paden Bray: 712

Medium-plus and medium.

Chad Masters and Wesley Thorp: 824

Medium and medium-plus.

Charly Crawford and Logan Medlin: 833

Medium and medium. “He didn’t look very fun to heel, but Logan will get him,” Brown said. 

Levi Simpson and Shay Carroll: 790

Medium-plus both runs.

Clay Tryan and Jake Long: 768

Medium-plus and medium. “Clay looked awesome in practice and that’s a good steer. I like this one,” Brown said. 

Andrew Ward and Buddy Hawkins: 829

“The deer. He’s gotten roped so many times and hasn’t slowed down. He’s the first to come up the alley and load in the chute every time.”

Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves: 822

Medium-plus.

Colby Lovell and Paul Eaves: 538

Medium and medium-plus.

Cody Snow and Junior Nogueira: 834

Medium-plus both runs. “He’ll fit them. That’s a good chance.” 

Clay Smith and Jade Corkill: 713

Medium and medium-plus. “They ran this same steer in the practice,” Brown added. 

Luke Brown and Joseph Harrison: 825

Medium-plus both runs. TRJ
