Boyd Chute Out Contestants: Team Roping
The Boyd Chute Out kicks off Dec. 7 at The Orleans Arena.

The Boyd Gaming Chute Out kicks off Dec. 7 at The Orleans Arena, highlighting some of the legends of rodeo.

Seven-time world champ Jake Barnes will rope with young-gun McCoy Profili, while fan favorites Derrick Begay and Clay Cooper will again contend for the title. Lee Kiehne will rope with eight-time gold buckle owner Rich Skelton, and up-and-comers Jake Orman and Will Woofin will look to continue the roll they started this summer.

Two-time world champ Matt Sherwood will rope with all-around hand and top heeler Kyle Lockett after both nearly made the WNFR again this year, and reigning world champ and Canadian champ Levi Simpson will pair up with NFR-qualifier and BFI champ Buddy Hawkins. Hayes Smith, of Oregon, and George Strait champ Clint Summers, of Florida, will form a new cross-country partnership for the event. Former Resistol Rookie of the Year Marcus Theriot and Montana’s John Robertson will round out the back.
