The Relentless Remuda and Solo Select Horses will syndicate their stallion The Darkk Side—a 2019 brown roan by Once In A Blu Boon out of AQHA/PRCA Horse of the Year DT Sugar Chex Whiz

The Darkk Side Syndicate will allow breeders, mare owners and just fans of a great horse to purchase ownership shares of the young stallion who’s amassed $23,854 in earnings in just three outings, while he remains in training with the greatest cowboy in history, Trevor Brazile, and his partner, futurity trainer Miles Baker

“We’ve never ridden anything like The Darkk Side, and his abilities have us in uncharted territory,” Brazile said of the stallion enrolled in both the Riata Buckle and Royal Crown Roping incentives. “When we realized how exceptional he really was, we wanted to offer the Western industry a chance to be a part of his process in a brand-new way for the rope horse business.”

The Darkk Side has been in the hands of the best in the business from the start: from NRCHA standout Tyson Benson as a 2-year-old, to Chris Littlefield—who won the AQHA Superhorse title on Real Gun—as a 3-year-old, then into Brazile and Baker’s Relentless Remuda to begin his career as a rope horse. He’s been in training alongside Reliance Ranches’ promising young stallion Dirty Fling, giving the Relentless Remuda a one-two punch in exceptional young stallions in their program.

“He wants to please you so much,” Baker said. “There’s no adjustment period between collecting him and going back to the roping pen. That’s just unheard of in a young stud.”

The Darkk Side Syndicate—managed by the Lazy E Ranch’s F.E. “Butch” Wise and Matt Whitman—will offer limited shares to the public, with all training and show bills through Dec. 31, 2024 included in the share price, as well as two breedings per year to each shareholder. Syndicate owners can use or sell their breeding each year.

“The Darkk Side is a complete outcross,” Melanie Smith, owner of Solo Select, said. “This pedigree will add ability, speed and size to nearly every single horse in the industry. He’s 15.1, 1,220 lbs. and wears a size 2 shoe—that’s the kind of structure you cannot find anywhere else in the breeding game.”

With an ownership share of The Darkk Side, syndicate members can come watch their horse compete under the best ropers in the business at the largest events in the futurity industry, enjoying the success alongside Brazile and Baker. Net money won will be split between the exhibitor and the syndicate, with winnings going back into the syndicate account to help with expenses.

With breedings exclusively belonging to syndicate shareholders, interested parties can request share purchases at thedarkkside.com and by contacting mel@soloselecthorses.com.
