Winners Version, a 2006 brown stallion, first made a name for himself with $399,057 in his offspring’s racetrack earnings, but he’s quickly excelled as a rope horse and barrel horse sire, and he stands at the official breeding farm of the Ariat World Series of Team Roping.
Winners Version is the brother of Jubilant Version, the brown gelding that Trevor Brazile rode in his last year of ProRodeo in 2018, going on to carry Clint Summers to his first NFR on the head side in 2021.
He also sired Hankies Version, the sorrel gelding Rhen Richard won over $50,000 on in his 5-year-old year at the rope horse futurities—including winning titles at Scottsdale, Arizona’s, American Rope Horse Futurity Association Sun Circuit and Rock Springs, Wyoming’s, Royal Crown.
“Hankies Version’s dam was kind of high-strung and not fun to be around, but I won a ton on her,” Richard said. “She always worked and handled the crowds on the end of the rope. She was a chomping-at-the-bit, dancing-around-type horse. But he’s laid back and not like her at all. at comes from Winners Version.”
With a speed index of 103, Winners Version is one of the fastest incentive-eligible stallions available in the rope horse market.
