A million-dollar year set the tone in 2025 with Hickory Holly Time leading all team roping sires. Hickory Holly Time’s team roping progeny won $1,066,256 with Senoritas Holly Time leading the way.
Using earnings data from rope horse futurities along with reported ProRodeo and jackpot results, these are the top 10 sires whose offspring cashed the most checks in 2025, from 4-year-old prospects to seasoned open horses.
1. Hickory Holly Time | $1,066,256

Hickory Holly Time had a historic 2025 as a rope horse sire with his team roping offspring surpassing $1 million in AQHA QData earnings, making him the first sire in team roping history to do so in a single year. He also led both the ARHFA and the Riata Stallion Incentive, while pushing his lifetime progeny earnings past $4 million.
That success came from depth as much as headline wins, with 34 individual money earners on the year. Senoritas Holly Time led the way with $164,532 won in 2025, followed by SLR Swinging Hickory with $156,132. Under Jeremy Buhler, SLR Swinging Hickory claimed a major $100,000 victory at the Old West Futurity, along with additional titles that underscored the consistency of Hickory Holly Time’s offspring.
That same consistency showed across the board. Buhler won the ARHFA World Show on DT Hickorys Angus, the Gold Buckle Futurities 4 & Under on DT Hickorys Stinger and the 6 & Under on SLR Swinging Hickory—further proof of a program producing at every level. In 2025, Hickory Holly Time’s 4-year-old offspring won $118,967, his 5-year-old offspring won $145,425 and his 6-year-old offspring won $444,125. Majority of his babies won money in the heeling, raking in $719,370 on the heel side and $345,194 in the heading.
Owned by Dean and Leslie Tuftin of DT Horses, the 2010 red roan by One Time Pepto out of Hickorys Holly Cee by Docs Hickory, Hickory Holly Time earned more than $250,000 himself as a reined cow horse, highlighted by major wins including the NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman title.
2. CD Diamond | $609,847

Last fall, CD Diamond crossed the million-dollar mark in rope-horse progeny earnings, and he continued his rise among the industry’s elite sires in 2025, building on that milestone. His offspring earned $258,227 in the first 10 months of the year alone, split almost evenly between heading and heeling. By the year’s end, 20 individual money earners contributed to the $609,847 total won by his offspring in 2025.
At the forefront of his 2025 performers was SJR Diamond Bond, who led with $218,869 on the year. Known as “James Bond,” the gelding made a seamless jump from the futurity pen to the ProRodeo spotlight, ridden by Kolton Schmidt at the 2025 NFR to help him finish fourth in the PRCA heading world standings.
Close behind was SJR Diamond Billy with $124,879, while Colter Todd’s standout mare Barbiiedoll gained traction throughout the ProRodeo season. Todd rode the young mare to a $71,750 win at RodeoHouston and climbed to the top of the world standings. CD Diamond’s 4-year-old offspring won $1,000, his 5-year-old offspring won $116,326 and his 6-year-olds won $37,488. Of his progeny’s 2025 earnings, $463,647 was won in the heading and $146,201 was won in the heeling.
CD Diamond is by CD Olena—a Doc O’Lena son out of a Peppy San Badger daughter with a bit of Otoe added for speed. And he’s out of a mare that’s double-bred Diamonds Sparkle (the dam of Shining Spark) with roping-royal lines Zan Parr Bar and Two Eyed Jack on the bottom. In 2012, CD Diamond was the NRCHA Open Futurity champion.
3. Woody Be Tuff | $571,866

Woody Be Tuff continued to prove his influence in 2025. He had 23 individual money earners on the year, led by Liken It Tuff. The 2014 gelding owned by 2023 NFR heeler Cole Curry earned $174,056 in 2025 and made a major impact at the NFR under Kaden Profili. Profili and Liken It Tuff won Round 1, split Round 3 and won Round 9 inside the Thomas & Mack.
Another key contributor was Woodie, who added $109,237 to the 2025 total, reinforcing the stallion’s ability to produce multiple high earners in a single season. That kind of production is nothing new for Woody Be Tuff. A 2001 stallion by Nitas Wood out of Tuffs Junie by Tuff Lena, he has become one of the industry’s most reliable outcross sires across cutting, cow horse and roping industries. Despite relatively limited foal crops, his offspring have now surpassed $15.3 million in earnings. Woody Be Tuff was a standout competitor in his own right, earning over $351,000 in the NCHA and receiving the NCHA Silver Award.
Woody Be Tuff’s 4-year-old babies won $39,516 in 2025, his 5-year-olds won $6,910 and his 6-year-olds won $291,734. His offspring won $241,600 on the head side and $330,266 in the heeling.
4. One Time Pepto | $487,025

One Time Pepto added another chapter to his legacy in 2025, with 13 individual money earners on the year in the team roping, led by standout horses that continued to bridge the gap between futurity success and top-level competition.
At the forefront was Nu One Time Blues, who earned $169,397 in 2025 alone. A Snaffle Bit finalist, “Boujee” has compiled $351,128 in heeling futurity earnings. By 6, the standout had already placed in the top 10 at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, won the 4-&-Under Heeling at the ARHFA World Championships and carried Joseph Harrison to a second-place finish at the 2025 BFI, earning the 2025 Heel Horse of the BFI title.
Another 2025 highlight for One Time Pepto offspring came from Pablos Time, who carried Trey Yates to a record-setting 236-point run and a unanimous Senior Heeling title at the 2025 AQHA World Show. In 2025, One Time Pepto’s 4-year-old offspring won $425, his 5-year-olds won $57,186 and his 6-year-olds won $191,706. On the head side, his offspring won $96,692, while his offspring raked in $390,333 on the heel side.
One Time Pepto’s broader impact remains unmatched. A $24-million sire, his cutting offspring alone have earned more than $19 million. That influence traces back to a remarkable career of his own. A 2001 red roan stallion by Peptoboonsmal out of One Time Soon by Smart Little Lena, One Time Pepto earned $331,097 and captured the 2005 NCHA Open Super Stakes Championship.
5. Bet Hesa Cat | $474,176

Bet Hesa Cat delivered a strong and well-rounded 2025, with 24 individual money earners.
Leading the way was Bet Hesa Freckledcat, who topped the year with $149,240. Known as “Answer,” the stallion carries a story that runs deeper for owners John and Kay Coltharp. What began as a meaningful cross out of their mare MS Freckled Star has turned into a standout performer. Bet Hesa Freckledcat has proven a versatile winner, with earnings in the NRCHA and the roping arena. Along with a performance Register of Merit, Answer has banked over $423,000 lifetime, carrying pro ropers and both of his owners.
Behind that consistency is a proven performer. A 2006 red roan by High Brow Cat out of Bet Yer Blue Boons by Freckles Playboy, Bet Hesa Cat earned $272,151 himself. His career included major titles such as AQHA World Junior Cutting L2 champion and the NCHA Futurity Champions Cup Super Stakes Reserve Championship, along with recognition as an NCHA Open World Champion and Gold Award earner.
